FolkTech AI is a Las Vegas company building local AI for people and businesses. Our direction starts with a simple conviction: the people doing the work should have meaningful control over the technology they depend on.
Why we build local AI
Ownership and custody are different. You can own your information while depending on somebody else’s infrastructure to process it. We build local AI because where that processing happens matters.
Running AI on hardware you control gives you a more direct role in deciding where your information is processed and how it is used. It also creates the possibility of useful work continuing without a constant connection to a remote AI service.
Those principles guide our engineering. Local processing is a foundation; access controls, readable records, deliberate connections, and clear product limits still matter. Our responsibility is to explain what each product does and earn trust through how it works.
A company with a longer view
Our vision extends beyond a single assistant. We are developing an ecosystem of local AI products and learning experiences for personal life, business, and education. Each should solve a real problem and make the next step easier to understand.
Serena Consumer and Serena Business are part of that direction. The work ahead is to develop that ecosystem without losing sight of the people who rely on it.

FolkTech AI was founded by Michael Folk. His background includes 33 years in healthcare, including 16 years as a paramedic. That experience informs the company’s emphasis on practical tools, clear information, and accountability.
Michael leads the vision for FolkTech AI: AI that people can understand, put to use, and exercise meaningful control over.
