Building Trust in AI: Why FolkTech AI Refuses to Cut Corners
AI is moving faster than most people can keep up with. Every week there is a new game-changing tool. Hype does not save lives, protect privacy, or keep a system running when it matters.
I spent my life in rooms where you do not hide a mistake. You do not ship an update later. You get it right or people get hurt. When lives are on the line, transparency is not a feature. It is a requirement. Most AI still says trust us.
The black box: hidden logic, mystery sources, no accountability. We are asked to trust that with health, privacy, and companies.
Real transparency is traceable decisions, auditable data, and user control. If you cannot run it without their servers, you do not control it.
Cloud-based AI puts your information on somebody else’s computer. You may retain ownership of your conversation, but ownership is not custody. What gets retained, who can access it, and when it gets deleted depend on the service you use. I believe processing it and deleting it should be the standard. At FolkTech AI, I don’t want access to your conversations. By design.
The privacy-performance trade-off is a lie. Local AI can be faster than cloud. Serena processes on your hardware, without the round trip to a remote AI server. We are building a business that does not depend on collecting your conversations.
We are not competing with OpenAI on their terms. We are rejecting the terms. Data on the device. Offline if the company vanishes. Logs you can read. Privacy built into the architecture.
Trust is architecture. Make it work offline. Make the pipeline auditable. Publish a flat rate. Actions, not promises.
